If you lived in the town of North Salem, New Hampshire in the early 1900s, William E. Palmer’s country store was the place to go for everything you needed, from milk to mail. William started selling bottled gas out of the back of his pickup truck in 1949 to local residents and summer tourists. His customers were neighbors and friends, and everyone in town had a smile for the Palmer pickup truck.

The kerosene and fuel oil business was founded by Charles A. Ermer in the greater Salem area in 1932 and was merged with the propane business in 1981 by Charles’ son, Bill Ermer to become Palmer Gas/Ermer Oil.

Now, more than 80 years later with both propane and fuel oil under the same roof, and Bill Ermer at the helm, Palmer Gas & Oil is still making people smile. Our simple fuel delivery and service programs keep our customers throughout Southern NH/Northern MA comfortable year-round. Our automatic delivery, easy billing, and maintenance plans make it easy to keep your tank full and your equipment in tip-top shape. We work closely with regulatory agencies to ensure we are adhering to the strictest guidelines to keep our employees and customers safe.
